About Solstice Sheep | Victoria Parente Regenerative Grazier
I'm Victoria Parente. I run a small residential grazing business based on the Central Coast of California. I also work with Nic Moss at Bunchgrass Grazing, where we manage a flock of about 160–200 sheep. Most of what I’ve learned about land and livestock has come from being out there doing the work — moving animals, watching how the land responds, and handling the day-to-day challenges that come with this kind of job.
To build on that, I’ve taken classes through the UC Hopland Research & Education Center (focused on lambing and New Zealand-style shearing) and Cuesta College’s ranch management program, where I’ve learned more about grazing from a holistic, land-based perspective. I follow low-stress stock handling principles and believe in working with animals in a way that’s calm, respectful, and efficient.
Starting to take on small-acreage grazing projects felt like the natural next step for me. I’ve been inspired to keep working with animals and stay connected to the land in a hands-on way. This is work I care about and feel proud to be offering to the larger community in San Luis Obispo County, with the hope of making holistic land management more accessible and more common.
